The big female in his foster home decided she was tired of Arlo's youthful exuberance and beat him up. He needed stitches but will be ok soon. But, he can't stay there any longer. If you are calm and patient and don't have any other dogs, Arlo can be a wonderful, loving companion. Arlo is a beautiful, loving dog who's had a lot of bad luck in his short life. Arlo can be charming, sweet, and wonderful. And he can also be extremely anxious and fearful. He needs a calm and patient owner to gently introduce him to new situations and show him there is nothing to fear. Arlo would do best as an only dog. He likes playing with other dogs, but he is so exuberant and overly energetic in his play that many other dogs won't tolerate him. Arlo is housebroken and well-behaved in the home - he will wake you by putting his nose on your forehead if he needs to go out. But Arlo is terrified at the vet and afraid to ride in the car. He is very smart and sensitive to your moods. Arlo loves kids and they love him. Arlo would make a great running companion for an active only dog home. He needs structure and a firm but loving owner to teach him that the world is not a scary place. Can you be that person? Training support will be provided for Arlo.
